Bitter Chocolate Tiramisu

The bitter taste is one of the medicinal tastes of associated with Summer. This recipe came out of my last Food and Yoga Retreat in Tuscany and because it was a hit, I want to share it with youJ


Base = 1 pack of sugar and dairy free Maria biscuits, 250 grams of oat flakes, 4 tbs. of grain coffee, 2 cups of water.

2nd layer = 4 bananas or 4 avocados, 400 grams. of raw cacao powder and a sweetener if needed (if you´re making the desert with bananas there´s no need of sweetener but with avocados you´ll have to add some rice syrup, agave or maple syrup).

3rd layer = 300grms of soaked cashews (at least 8 hours of soaking), 150 grams of nut butter (hazelnut or almond have a great taste) and 1 tsp. of vanilla powder essence.


Preparation: Start by making the cereal coffee by boiling the water and adding the powder cereal coffee. Crush de biscuits in small pieces and pour the coffee preparation so the biscuits can go soft. Place the base of the desert into the fridge and let it rest for at least 30 min.

In a separate bowl crush the bananas / avocados and add the cacao and sweetener. Layer this preparation on top of the base and then starting mixing the cashews, ½ cup of water, the vanilla and the nut butter on a food processor. When is all creamy and smooth you can add the 3rd layer and than allow the whole preparation rest in the fridge for another 30 minutes.
